Take a Flight to the Abacos and Explore the Best of Hope Town
There are so many reasons to book a flight to the Abacos, where warm sun, white sand, and turquoise waters await. Here at Air Unlimited, we fly directly to Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay, two leading destinations in the Abaco Islands that offer top-notch resorts, food, and entertainment. That being said, the neighboring islands and towns of the Abacos are easily accessible and worth exploring too. One of these destinations, Hope Town, is a quaint village on the island of Elbow Cay – just a short ferry ride away from Marsh Harbour.
To help plan your next trip to the Abacos, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite spots in Hope Town below.
Things to Do
Because of Hope Town’s rich history and gorgeous waters, there are plenty of things to do on the island. We recommend:
- The Hope Town Lighthouse – This candy-striped landmark is one of the last manually operated lighthouses in the world. Climb up more than 100 lighthouse steps for a quick workout and some spectacular views of the surrounding area.
- The Wyannnie Malone Museum – History buffs will get a glimpse into the pirates, Lucayan Indians, rum-runners and wreckers of yesteryear. Guests will see Hope Town’s history come alive among the displays of shipbuilding, shipwrecks, hurricanes and torpedoed freighters.
- Froggies Out Island Adventures -Visitors interested in exploring the water should check out scheduled snorkeling and dive trips. Half-day and full-day tours are offered for snorkelers and certified divers, as well as lessons.
Where to Eat
After a day of exploring, we know you’ll be starving. Lucky for you there are plenty of mouth-watering choices. Here are some of our recommendations for places to eat in Hope Town:
- Firefly Bar & Grill – This restaurant is perfect for those looking for a date night destination. The terrace is a great place to catch the sunset over the Sea of Abaco, a beautiful saltwater lagoon while enjoying a delicious meal of fresh fish and local cuisine. Firefly also has a full-service bar and a featured wine list.
- Cap’n Jack’s – This dive bar is nestled in the marina and is the perfect casual spot to grab some local grub, fresh fish or a burger. If you happen to visit on Thursday nights, you can even take part in Trivia Night and interact with the locals.
Where to Stay
So, you know what to do in Hope Town and where to eat, but where should you stay? Allow us to make a couple of suggestions:
- Hope Town Inn and Marina – This relaxed resort is perfect for both couples and families. The inn offers plenty of space and amenities, such as boat rides to the beach, a swim-up pool bar and patio and complimentary kayak and paddleboard rentals.
- Firefly Sunset Resort – This up-scale and pet-friendly resort has seven fully-equipped cottages and villas to choose from. Amenities include golf cart and boat rentals, errand services, excursion planning services and on-location visits from masseuses and nail technicians.
The Abaco Islands are filled with hidden gems like Hope Town, so book a flight to the Abacos at www.flyairunlimited.com and start exploring.

Book a Luxury Flight and Meet Our World-Class Pilots
It’s no secret that we strive for perfection at Air Unlimited, and a big part of our success rests in the hands of our world-class pilots. Our pilots know that each passenger expects the very best when booking a luxury flight experience. Because of this, they go out of their way to offer exceptional service and treat every passenger like part of the family.
You may wonder why our pilots enjoy going above and beyond for our passengers, and the answer is simple: they truly love what they do. Co-founders, Mark Neubauer, and Chick Gregg, are both pilots that appreciate aviation and all it has to offer. By sharing their expertise and passion for aviation with the rest of the crew, Mark and Chick lead by example, helping the entire team feel inspired.
Outside of work, many of Air Unlimited’s pilots enjoy flying in their free time, keeping their skills sharp for our passengers. For some, this love of flying started at a young age. In fact, Pilots Todd Sickle, Ron Bernard, and Ed Moon discovered the wonders of flight as children. Ed decided he wanted to be a pilot at only 14 years old. As a child, Ron was fascinated with model airplanes, and nowadays he’s fascinated by the real thing. Similarly, Todd grew up next to the Orlando International Airport and began watching planes take-off and land early on. After 21 years of flying experience, he continues to enjoy frequent flights and getting to know the passengers.
For other Air Unlimited pilots, flying is in their blood – at least that’s what our Pilot Greg Rupp says! Pilots Dave Owen, Alan Griffin, Chick Gregg, and Mark Neubauer also had fathers or grandfathers who were pilots. Hearing their family stories of aviation helped spark an interest in flying.
Chief Pilot, Josh Stover, graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where his passion for aviation expanded as he learned all about flight. Interested in passing on his knowledge of aviation, Josh became a flight instructor at the school, before ultimately joining the Air Unlimited crew.
Realizing that passion is developed early in life, our pilots are now dedicated to inspiring children through our Junior Pilot Program, which allows kids to get an up close and personal look at life as a pilot. Children are invited into the co-pilot seat on a flight to the Abacos, where they can witness spectacular views, see how the equipment works, and ask our pilots questions about aviation. Through this program, we hope to spark the next generation of pilots.
We can tell you about our pilots’ passions and skills, and our great services and programs, but why not show you instead? Next time you plan a trip to the Abaco Islands, let us do the flying. We promise you’ll be in good hands and will enjoy a luxury flight experience with Air Unlimited. Book online at www.flyairunlimited.com.

Air Unlimited Enhances Customs Process at Orlando Sanford International Airport
Air Unlimited is pleased to announce a new arrival gate at the Orlando Sanford International Airport, which is dedicated to helping our passengers breeze through airport customs after a relaxing, island getaway.
Guests flying with Air Unlimited will continue to depart from our private hangar, which is offset from the main terminal to offer a more exclusive and luxury experience. Here, guests can valet their cars for free, experience a smooth check-in and relax in a comfortable waiting lounge. However, flights returning to Sanford will now utilize customs at the main terminal to streamline and expedite security checks, providing our passengers with a hassle-free experience at the end of vacation. Using the main terminal for customs allows baggage to quickly pass through X-ray scanners, instead of relying on hand-checked security. It also allows our guests to use Global Entry for faster clearance.
Additionally, we’re excited to introduce a new Global Entry process to help our travelers receive this earned security status after flying with us. Passengers interested in Global Entry can simply apply online and schedule their screening interview to take place after their next Air Unlimited trip, conveniently meeting enrollment officers in customs upon their return. This avoids the need to schedule an appointment outside of planned travel. Applicants that receive Global Entry will take this accreditation with them for future travel with any air carrier.
After a quick stop at the main terminal for customs, we invite our guests to re-board the plane for a short ride down the tarmac to our private hangar. This way guests are swiftly reunited with their cars and are able to by-pass the typical baggage claim and passenger pick-up areas of the main airport. Passengers needing access to car rentals will be able to leave directly from customs, eliminating the need to find transportation from Air Unlimited’s private hangar to the rental car facilities.
At Air Unlimited, we’re always looking for ways to enhance the guest experience. That’s why we worked with Orlando Sanford International Airport to rethink customs and simplify the process for our passengers, offering exceptional services to all of our valued customers. We hope you can join us on a trip soon to enjoy hassle-free flying and tropical destinations.

Sea Sick? Choose to Fly with our Boutique Airline Instead
Right now, many travel enthusiasts are planning ahead and booking vacations for later in 2019. For example, January through March are the most popular months to book a tropical cruise, inspiring the travel industry to dub this time of year as ‘wave season’. However, for those of us who deal with sea sickness or simply want to have a more unique travel experience this year, there is another option to consider: choosing a boutique airline. Air Unlimited offers exclusive island flights that are luxurious, intimate, and best of all, affordable.
Flying in a lavish aircraft instead of taking a cruise is not only more spectacular, but it’s also faster, allowing travelers to spend more time on vacation, and less time worrying about getting there. Break out from the traditional cruise activities to discover the hidden gems of the Bahamas, where you’ll arrive after a quick flight feeling ready to explore everything the local cultures have to offer. With our nonstop flights to paradise, you’ll have more time than ever to enjoy new and exciting activities with your loved ones.
At Air Unlimited, we prefer quaint destinations to typical tourist hubs, which is why we offer daily flights to Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay, located in Abaco, Bahamas. These islands are perfect for someone who is looking for a range of activities but don’t want to fight the crowds. While visiting the Abacos, vacationers can go snorkeling, diving, and boating, or relax at high-end resorts and beaches.
While the Caribbean draws in tourists with beautiful ocean views and thrilling excursions, we understand that getting there is half the fun, too. Our crew focuses on elevating the guest experience to make each trip enjoyable and efficient. Arrive at our private hangar, valet your car for free and open the doors to our friendly staff, quick-check in desk and private waiting lounge. You’ll board the plane in no time, walking into the cabin to nine standalone seats, each situated to provide passengers with window views, plenty of legroom and adequate aisle space for ultimate comfort.
From the time you leave for vacation to the memories made in each destination, choosing a boutique airline over a cruise won’t disappoint. This year, book with Air Unlimited to experience a better way to travel and more vacation time – at affordable rates. Schedule a flight to the Abacos with us at www.flyairunlimited.com.

Why More People are Booking a Flight to the Abaco Islands
Bahamas’ Out Islands, which are escapes from the traditional tourism hubs of Nassau and Grand Bahama, have seen a 20 percent growth in visitor arrivals. This may surprise the average traveler, but at Air Unlimited, we completely understand why more people are forgoing the traditional idea of a Bahamian vacation and are choosing to book a flight to the Abaco Islands instead.
The Abaco Islands provide travelers with a more private and quaint vacation spot than the typical tourist hubs of the Bahamas. The Abacos boast quaint towns, boutique hotels, and gorgeous white sand beaches. The best part? Even with the recent increase in visitors, travelers are always able to find a beach chair. If you’re intrigued by this, the good news is that Air Unlimited flies directly to Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay, two beautiful destinations in the Abacos. Our crew can get you to paradise in little over an hour.
Marsh Harbour is the perfect destination for travelers looking to blend a relaxing beach vacation with the nightlife of a Bahamian city. Here, visitors will find plenty of restaurants, hotels, and bars to entertain them during their trip. In the day, visitors can head to one of many full-service marinas and rent a boat for a day on the water.
Treasure Cay is the perfect spot for scuba diving, snorkeling, water sports, or even a round of golf. If water sports and golf aren’t your things, feel free to check out Little Harbour, a protected bay known for its small artist colony, or spend the day relaxing on the sandy beaches instead.
We hope our insight into why more people are choosing the Abacos has you thinking about your next trip. If so, Air Unlimited offers a luxury flight to the Abaco Islands in our commuter planes, which comfortably seat up to nine passengers. American Heart Month Starts Today – Here’s How to Donate
For most people, February is all about love, cartoon hearts and Valentine’s Day. For others, including countless hospital teams and organ donors, this month focuses on a different kind of heart, as people recognize American Heart Month and National Organ Donor Day (Feb.14). This celebrates the many doctors, patients, and donors that keep our hearts strong. For Air Unlimited, we like to do our part by offering organ transportation flights throughout the year, and today, we’d like to share how you can get involved too.
You may not realize it, but you can make a difference for the thousands of people waiting for lifesaving transplants. About 95 percent of U.S. adults support organ donation, but only 54 percent are actually signed up as donors. This is a disappointing gap when you take into account that one donor can contribute eight lifesaving organs, and there are nearly 120,000 people waiting for organ transplants.
So, what can you do? One simple step is to become an organ donor, which can easily be done online through your DMV. You can also volunteer with donation and transplant organizations, such as Donate Life America, and help organizations with social media advocacy and fundraising.
Something that many people forget is that organ donation isn’t just for the deceased. There are a few organs you can donate while you are alive that can make a huge difference, such as kidneys and parts of the liver, lungs, and pancreas. You can find information on the living donor process here. Even something as simple as donating blood or plasma can be a huge help too.
It may be American Heart Month, but Air Unlimited is honored to be part of the organ donation process throughout the year. Many of our pilots are ready to volunteer in transporting organs, welcoming the doctors along for the ride, no matter what hour of the day it is. We all can play a part in saving someone’s life, and that’s something to be proud of.

Sneak Peek of Aviation Day at Orlando Sanford International Airport
The Air Unlimited team is excited to share a sneak peek of our latest efforts to support youth in aviation: Aerospace and Aviation Day. This event takes place tomorrow at the Orlando Sanford International Airport and is designed to inspire Seminole County children to consider careers in aviation. We are thrilled to be participating this year and can be found interacting with students from Seminole County Public Schools from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at booth #28.
Several of our pilots at Air Unlimited became fascinated with flight at an early age, making them eager to share their aviation knowledge and passion with today’s youth. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, and we’re excited to join Aerospace and Aviation Day in making an impact on our community. In fact, last year’s event inspired so many children to pursue careers in aviation that Seminole County Public Schools has since created an Aviation Academy at Seminole High School.
To further nurture interest in aviation, we are planning pilot meet-and-greets, so students can get up-close and personal with the people that make this industry special. Outside of our booth, children and their families can enjoy the event’s featured speakers from the industry, exciting aerobatics displays, free plane rides with EAA Young Eagles, and various giveaways.
If you cannot attend Aerospace and Aviation Day tomorrow, you can always have your little one participate in our Junior Pilot Program. This program allows your child to have the rare experience of learning about air travel from our chief pilot while enjoying spectacular views from the cockpit of the plane. At the end of the flight, your little co-pilot will receive a certificate with a commemorative photo, a souvenir, and most importantly, their pilot wings. You can call our team to learn more about our Junior Pilot Program at (407) 585-4300. Hope to see you and your family soon!

Take a Flight to the Abacos with Your Pet
Just in time for National Dress Up Your Dog Day, we’re featuring our crew’s favorite “Pilot Dog”, Bria, who belongs to our very own Co-founder, Chick Gregg. Bria loves to put on her co-pilot hat and join the crew for a quick flight to the Abacos whenever she gets the chance, and she’s not the only dog with her head in the clouds. In fact, dozens of dogs have taken trips with us, thanks to our pet-friendly flight policies.
Most commercial airlines make flying with pets hard, charging expensive fees, requiring piles of paperwork and demanding weeks-to-months of advance notice. Often times, registering your pet for a commercial flight also means flying separately from them. Alternatively, finding the perfect pet sitter or boarding facility isn’t any easier for pet owners looking to vacation. That’s why we decided to offer pet-friendly flights that allow you to bring your pet directly in-cabin with you.
At Air Unlimited, you don’t have to worry about your pets traveling in the cargo hold and being separated from you during the flight. Instead, you can relax knowing that they are safely seated with you. We’re even open to flying unique pets, as long as they meet the Bahamas’ guidelines for clearing customs and meet all the necessary safety regulations.
Our policies allow up to two pets per flight, prioritizing emotional support and service animals first. If you’re interested in bringing your furry friend on your next trip, be sure to call to confirm that a spot is open for them. Our team will make sure that other passengers are aware of the pet joining the flight and that there are no allergy concerns among guests. Pet owners are required to provide official documents concerning vaccinations and proof of good health. For travel to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, an import permit is required from the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade & Industry, and certain restrictions do apply. From there, pet travel is easy!
On board, trained pets are welcome to relax in the cabin space next to you, and more energetic pets are invited to fly with you on a close harness or in-carrier with their favorite toy. Either way, you’ll be able to watch over your pet every second of the way.
The next time you plan to book a flight to the Abacos, consider bringing your pet along for the ride. The process is simple, and you’ll land in paradise with your pet ready to join in on all the fun. Call us today for more information at (407) 585-4300.

2018 News Recap: Air Unlimited’s Private Plane Services
This year marked some exciting news for Air Unlimited, including notable company growth, added flight perks and a new program for youth passengers. Every decision we made in 2018 aimed to better serve our guests and local communities through our private plane services – from scheduled island flights and custom charters to organ transportation flights. Now, we would like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of these key moments, and how we were able to spread the news along the way.
Earlier this year, we announced that Air Unlimited had doubled its annual passenger count and hangar space, added a new plane to its fleet, and opened a new check-in desk at Marsh Harbour. This marked a major milestone for our company, and we enjoyed celebrating with our staff, passengers and the community. Excitingly, our growth story was highlighted across local news, such as the Orlando Business Journal (Article 1 and Article 2) and FOX 35.
Through firsthand flight experiences, Amy West Travel, Osceola News Gazette, and Central Florida Lifestyle also shared stories around our growing airline and its unique travel perks. This was a great way to start off 2018, and it set the stage for a fantastic year ahead!
This summer, we introduced our Junior Pilot Program, which offers youth passengers the chance to ride in the cockpit and receive their own set of pilot wings. Some of the first families to try out the Junior Pilot Program wrote about their experiences online, including About a Mom, The Suburban Mom, and Sonni Abatta. It was rewarding to see the excitement on each of our Junior Pilots’ faces, as they graduated from the program and received their certificates. We’re so excited to include this new service for years to come.
For the 2018 football season, we offered exclusive charter flights for hosting the ultimate tailgate in the sky. These specialty flights whisked sports fans away to their favorite games across Florida. News 13 visited the hangar for a tailgate and captured the excitement. Be sure to watch the segment here to see how our tailgating flights are unlike any other football celebration.
All of our flight perks, new and old, came together in a recent story featured by Reader’s Digest and MSN. We’re honored to be recognized by these publications for having a top-notch private airline, and we thank our fantastic guests for helping drive our continued success.
Looking ahead, our goal is to continue growing and improving our private flight services to provide guests with extraordinary experiences. To stay up-to-date with all of our latest news, check in with our blog, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

How Air Unlimited’s Crew Assists with Organ Transportation Flights
You’re more than likely familiar with Air Unlimited’s famed flights to the Abacos and custom charter services, but did you know Air Unlimited also does organ transportation flights. These trips save lives by rapidly getting doctors and organs where they need to go. In fact, our pilots have quickly and carefully completed countless life-saving missions, often alongside the Florida Hospital Transplant Institute.
When an organ transportation flight is requested, our team immediately begins making arrangements to find a crew that can fly the organ and medical team between hospitals. This can happen at any moment, so many of our pilots are ready to volunteer at the oddest hours of day or night. The crew also understands that every transportation flight is different than the next. Sometimes, our team transports the organ itself packed in a cooler with ice. Other times, we’re flying a team of doctors to harvest an organ at another hospital and bringing it back home for transplant.
Although this is very different than our typical flight to the Bahamas, it’s a rewarding experience to offer such an important and unique service.
In fact, nearly 120,000 people are waiting for life-saving organ transplants, and more than 5,000 of them are located right in our backyard, here in Florida. Unfortunately, every 10 minutes, another person is added to the waiting list, and 21 people die every day while waiting for their turn. So, when a match is made, we know that every second counts.
Even though we’ll never meet these patients, we feel honored to help them through our organ transportation flights. If you’d like to make a difference too, we invite you to consider becoming an organ donor. Only 54 percent of Americans are organ donors, yet one donor can single-handedly save and heal more than 75 lives! To learn more about the process or to sign up to be a donor, visit https://www.organdonor.gov/register.html.
